Bethany Doolittle’s jumper with a minute 12 remaining gave the Iowa Hawkeye women a one point lead as they went on to stun ninth ranked and Big Ten leader Penn State 73-70 on the road. Freshman Ally Disterhoft hit two late free throws to provide the final margin and finished with a game high 24 points.

“That’s incredible, she was 8 for 9 shooting, 3 for 3 from three-point range, a perfect 5 for 5 from the line….and she hit those two clutch free throws…that’s amazing,” Iowa coach Lisa Bluder said of Disterhoft’s performance. Bluder said it was a huge win for the Hawkeyes as they now have 4 straight Big Ten road victories, which she says will be important at the end of the year when the NCAA selection committee looks at things.

The Hawkeyes move into third place in the Big Ten with a record of 6-4.
