A popular pair of bald eagles that have a nest on the Alcoa Davenport Works property are expecting at least one eaglet. Liberty and Justice are the names of the eagles that built their 7-foot nest in 2009 in a tree on Alcoa’s Riverdale property along the Mississippi River.

The pair, which are featured on Alcoa’s two-camera Eaglecam, have produced two or three eggs each year they have nested there. The first egg of 2014 can now be seen.  Additional eggs are expected soon.

Alcoa spokesman John Riches says visitors to the Eaglecam website, www.alcoa.com/eaglecam, can view the nest year-round. Riches, who writes a blog that appears on the website, says the eaglets could hatch as early as March 31st.
