The UNI Panthers rolled to a 73-54 win over Southern Illinois in their home finale. The Panthers turned the tables on the Salukis by outrebounding them 35-24. “Obviously that was talked a lot about in the last two days,” UNI coach Ben Jacobson said.  His team has won four of its last five games, and he says the defensive effort has gotten better and the offense that has been pretty good has more confidence with more experience.

The Panthers are 9-8 in the Missouri Valley race and Jacobson feels they are playing their best at the right time. “We were sitting in a tough spot two-and-a-half weeks ago and now the guys have rattled off 4 out of 5 with our rebounding and defensive effort,” Jacobson said.

Seth Tuttle led UNI with 19 points and Matt Bohannon added 17.
