A Waterloo convenience store manager has been charged with distributing a synthetic drug.  The charge filed in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids alleges 26-year-old Earl James Ramos gave the synthetic drug called pentedrone to another person at the store in October.

Pentedrone is part of a group of substances commonly known as bath salts. Ramos appeared in court and was released on bond. The charge includes a maximum sentence of 20 years and a $1,000 fine if he is convicted.
