The Lynnville-Sully softball team has lofty expectations for this season. Coach Stacey Alberts has her entire lineup back from last year’s team that finished 38-6 and the Hawks are 2-0 and ranked third in class 1A heading into tonight’s matchup against Pella.

Lynnville-Sully lost in the opening round of the state tournament a year ago but bounced back with two wins to finish fifth. “I think walking away from that we had a great experience,” Alberts says. She says they have a feeling they will turn that experience into something positive this year.

With the recent success the program has had the Hawks will have a target on their back but Alberts says that will benefit the team down the road. She says the more pressure you have during the year, the more you are able to handle it at the end of the season.
