The man accused in the killing of a north-central Iowa boy 20 years ago will walk free. Michael Cisneros has been found not guilty.

The 38-year-old former Mason City man was acquitted on Monday evening after an eight-man, four-woman Cerro Gordo County jury returned the not guilty verdict in his first-degree murder trial.

Cisneros was accused of the 1994 killing of 20-month-old John Snyder Junior, a Mason City toddler who went missing on July 20th 1994, with his body being found the next day in Willow Creek.

Cisneros was arrested last July after investigators say DNA analysis linked him to blood found on the pajama bottoms of the victim.

Jurors made their decision after ten days of testimony spread over a three-week period, with jurors getting the case at about 2:30 Monday afternoon and reporting a verdict shortly before 5:30 last night.
