Homemade bombs were discovered in two houses in Webster City on Sunday afternoon. The devices were located on a chair at 930 Third Street and another found at 841 Bank Street. Both of the homes were evacuated.

The fire department summoned the Region 5 Hazmat Squad and the State Fire Marshall to investigate. A bomb technical squad arrived early in the evening to safely detonate the devices. There was no fire and no injuries reported.

Both devices contained gun powder and bullets. A 16-year-old Webster City male juvenile was responsible for making the homemade bombs and is facing charges by Webster City Police.

The incident remains under investigation.
