Firefighters continue to work a fire at the Farmers Coop Society in the northwest Iowa town of Sioux Center. Just before 6 P.M. on Monday, the Sioux County communication center received a 911 call of a structure fire at grain bin on the northwest edge of Sioux Center. When firefighters arrived at the scene, heavy smoke was coming from the roof.

Firefighters remain on the scene today as crews continue working to get a about 2.5-million bushels of grain removed from the facility. Sioux Center Fire Chief Dave Van Holland says it could take four or five days to get all the grain out of the bin. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage is unknown.
