The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash in central Iowa’s Hamilton County on Thursday night that killed one driver and injured another. The accident happened at the curve of Highway 69, two miles west of Randall.

The person killed is identified as 32-year-old Joy Niklasen of Alleman. Reportedly, a 2006 Ford Fusion driven by Nicklasen was traveling eastbound in the southbound lane of 69 when her car apparently crossed over the center line and collided with a westbound 2001 Ford F-150 pickup driven by 32-year-old Natasha Johnson of Ellsworth.

Niklasen was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Johnson was transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames for treatment of her injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
