State and local authorities conducted a sting operation out of hotel rooms in the Quad Cities this week and now a dozen men and woman face prostitution charges.

The sting happened on Wednesday and Thursday and was set up in hotel rooms at the Isle of Capri in Bettendorf. Authorities say the “enhanced surveillance capabilities” at the casino complex “contributed to the success of the operation.”

Undercover agents placed ads on websites used by people looking to pay for sex or offering to perform sex acts for money. Four women and eight men were charged with either prostitution or pandering. Three of the men also face drug-dealing charges.
