The family of a missing Hampton man is marking one year since his disappearance with a call for help in finding him.
Twenty-three-year-old Ethan Kazmerzak was last seen in the early morning hours of September 15, 2013. Kazmerzak’s mother, April Hemmes, says her family continues to seek answers as to Ethan’s whereabouts. She says she commonly has conversations with friends who ask her if they have heard anything yet and she says nothing.
Hemmes says they hope anyone with information will call police. Numerous searches have been conducted by local law enforcement, but no trace of Kazmerzak has been found. “We had a couple of different tips that we did go and run down, that did not come out to anything. But I think that there were only two or three. If anybody knows anything –no matter how minor they think it might be — if they would just contact us,” according to Hampton Police Chief Bob Schaefer.
Kazmerzak drives a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta. “One of the things that I would like to stress is that we have not located a vehicle. Both he and the vehicle are still missing,” Schaefer says. “That vehicle would be a part of leading us to maybe where he is at, and I know that there are a lot of them out there. But again, that vehicle is still missing as well.”
There is a $20,000 reward for information regarding Kazmerzak’s disappearance.
