The Iowa Hawkeyes will try to turn their season around with a visit to Pitt. The Panthers are 3-0 and have the fourth ranked ground attack in the country. “Pitt has not had to throw the ball, they are not throwing for much right now, and there’s a reason, they haven’t had to,” according to Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz. He says they have been able to run the ball against everybody.

The Hawkeyes must slow down Pitt’s James Conner, who ranks second in the country in rushing. Ferentz says he is strong, fast and has the ability to see and pick holes behind a big strong offensive line.

To have any chance the Hawkeyes need improvement from an offense that has been unable to establish a ground game and unwilling to throw the ball down field. Ferentz says they need to be balanced and play in a physical nature.
