The California man accused of luring a 14-year-old Baxter girl into the back of his car in June has been move from the Jasper County jail into federal custody

Lieutenant Aaron Groves of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department says 33-year-old David Anthony Lavera was turned over to U.S. Marshals. He’s been indicted on several federal charges, including sexual exploitation of a child and possession of child pornography.

Lt. Groves says multiple state charges are still pending against Lavera as well. Lavera allegedly committed a sex act against the 14-year-old Baxter girl after picker her up at her house. Then between June 26th and March 3rd, he’s accused of using his phone to record a 12 and 14 year old using the bathroom and taking a shower at a home in Newton.

The Los Angeles man had been telling teenagers in Newton that he was a stunt man in the “Twilight” movies. Officers found two swords and several dagger-style weapons in his car when they arrested him.
