Des Moines Police have charged a student in connection with threats of violence against Drake University made on a social media site. Drake University reported threats made on Thursday (October 16th) on the “Yik Yak” social media site that made reference to the Columbine school shooting and said the person making the threats had access to “top tier guns.”
Police worked with Yik Yak administrators and Drake University officials to identify 18-year-old Drake student Michael Zachary Crisp as the person who posted the threats.
Police questioned Crisp and he admitted to sending the threats. He was arrested and charged with first-degree harassment.
