A northwest Iowa teen and an adult are facing charges after it was reported the boy was making bombs in his house. Authorities in Pocahontas County executed a search warrant on a residence in the town of Rolfe on Thursday after a report of possible hazardous materials inside the home.

The search was lead by the Iowa Fire Marshal’s Office, the State Bomb Squad, Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office, the F.B.I. and other agencies. The items seized and detonated included a quarter-pound of a chemical-based explosive material known as TATP. Pocahontas County Sheriff Bob

Lampe said a 14-year-old male juvenile had allegedly been making explosive devices and mixing chemicals. On Thursday afternoon, the staff and students at Pocahontas Area High School were evacuated as a precaution where the juvenile is a student. There were no explosive devices found on the school property.
