Floyd of Rosedale is up for grabs in the Twin Cities today when the Iowa Hawkeyes visit Minnesota. It will be a match up of teams with run first styles and while the Gophers are last in the Big Ten in passing the Hawks can’t forget about it.

“You can’t load up, if you do, they are going to throw the ball down the field on you,” Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says. He says the Gophers have a lot more experience now than they have had in the past.

Ferentz says the Gophers have one of the best running games in the Big 10 and have a system that is tough defend with a good running quarterback. Ferentz says the Hawkeyes have veterans up front so it should be a tough contest on both sides.

The Hawks hope to secure the Floyd of Rosedale trophy for the third straight year. “Nobody owns that trophy, and I guess we’ve had it this past year and it’s up for grabs this year,” Ferentz says.
