Iowa State will have extra time to digest Saturday’s debacle at Kansas. The Cyclones don’t play this week after suffering a 34-14 loss to the Jayhawks, their first win in Big 12 play. Coach Paul Rhoads says the first half was clearly the worst half of football the team has played since he has been there. “We are embarrassed by that, ashamed by that, we’re diligently working to find some answers,” Rhoads says.

Iowa State will return to action on November 22nd at home against Texas Tech. Rhoads says the coaches are looking at ways to handle the off week to find a way to motivate the team and he says they expect to product positive results.

Rhoads says there are plenty of fundamental things to work on, such as getting aligned at a faster pace against quick offenses, defending the deep ball, protecting the quarterback, route running, finishing plays on both sides of the ball.

Iowa State is 2-7 overall.
