Iowa State is only 2-9 but the Cyclones will play a role in the first college football playoff when they close out the season at a TCU team that needs a win to be part of the four team field.

ISU coach Paul Rhoads says he will cast his vote for them now as they belong in the final 4 teams. He says the Cyclones must be ready to take on a team that wants to win and win big. “They are going to go out and prepare this week to play the best football game that they have played all season long. They don’t want to leave any doubt in any member of the selection committee that they deserve to be in the top four,” Rhoads says.

The Cyclones need a victory to avoid their first winless conference record since 2008. Rhoads says it is all about pride for his team and the character and integrity that they have in preparing for the game. TCU coach Gary Patterson says he is not interested in trying to earn style points as he says he hasn’t thought about that all season. “We are going to try and win the football game, that’s the most important thing,” Patterson says.
