A Sioux City man has pleaded not guilty to setting a house on fire on the city’s north side. Two adults and two children were inside home at the time. Thirty-four-year-old Nathan Toft is charged with first-degree arson and stalking in the November 12 incident.

Toft is accused of setting a pile of wood on fire that was next to the home of his estranged wife and children. The woman, her two children and father all escaped the home without injury. There were two protection and non-contact orders on file against Toft at the time of the fire. Toft’s trial has been set for March 3 in Woodbury County District Court.
