Iowa coach Fran McCaffery is considering juggling his lineups after halftime in hopes of avoiding more second half collapses. The latest version occurred last Thursday when the Hawkeyes squandered an 11 point halftime advantage to Michigan State in a 75-61 loss. “I think anytime where you have a situation where things aren’t going well, you think about every possible situation that can affect it, and that would be one of them,: McCaffery says.

The Hawkeyes are 2-1 in the Big Ten and visit a Minnesota team on Tuesday night that is 0-4 in the league race. McCaffery says the Gophers are much better than their record as 3 of their first 4 games in the league were on the road, but he says they have some new players and veterans who are playing well.

Defending the 3-point shot has been an issue for the Hawkeyes and it will be a key against the Gophers as he says they move the ball and their speed and quickness helps them, along with the fact that they have multiple people who can shoot the 3.

Minnesota plays five of its next seven at home and coach Richard Pitino hopes that will help the Gophers get things turned around as he says they did play hard at Michigan, but did some “inexplicable things” that may’ve been nerves.

Pitino says the Hawkeyes have actually played better on the road than at home. “They’ve just had some ruts offensively, much like us,” Pitino says.

Pitino says the Gophers must eliminate the unforced errors that plagued them in Saturday’s loss at Michigan.
