Governor Terry Branstad fell ill at an event today at DuPont Pioneer in Johnston. An ambulance was called and he was transported to Methodist hospital in Des Moines.
The governor’s spokesman says he was conscious and alert during the transport to the hospital. Spokesman Jimmy Centers says the governor had been suffering from the effects of a cold for a couple of days.
Branstad is 68 and just began his sixth term.
