The Iowa Hawkeye women saw their six game winning streak come to an end in a 93-88 loss at fifth ranked Maryland. The Hawkeyes lost despite hitting better than 50 percent from the field and from three point range.

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says Maryland got more 10 more points from the free-throw line and more second-chance points as they dominated the boards. She was proud of the effort. She says they went on the road to the number 5 team and battled the entire game and still had a chance with one minute left in the game. “I am extremely proud of them and we need to use that moving forward, we know that we can play with anybody in the country, anywhere in the country,” Bluder says.

Iowa is 8-2 in the Big Ten and 17-4 overall.
