It’s not deflated footballs people are talking about in Davenport. It’s the deflated St. Ambrose University sports dome. A foot of heavy, wet snow that fell over the weekend flattened the 67,000-square-foot facility on Sunday. Workers then pumped air into the dome, trying to re-inflate it. But they finally gave up and shut off its power. Scores of St. Ambrose track and field athletes generally practice in the dome daily.

The company that built it is expected to look it over and recommend a course of action.
