Three people died in a house fire in Fort Dodge on Sunday afternoon. Firemen were called to 703 Fourth Avenue North at about 12:30. When they arrived, flames engulfed the home.

Fort Dodge Fire Chief Kent Hulett said the fire claimed the lives of an adult female, a five-year-old boy and a five-month-old infant. The names of the victims have not been released.

Four individuals who lived near the home were taken to a Fort Dodge hospital for smoke inhalation and burns. The Iowa State Fire Marshal has been called to investigate to the blaze.
