Fourth ranked Le Mars outscored number two Williamsburg 12-5 in a second overtime for a 64-57 win in the Class 3A semifinals. Third ranked Dubuque Wahlert outscored Cedar rapids Xavier 15-6 in the 3rd quarter in a 67-54 win
In Class 2A, Trey Robinson scored 16 points and hauled down 13 rebounds as ninth ranked Treynor outlasted third rated Aplington-Parkersburg 74-70 in overtime. “We threw punches at ’em and they threw them right back at us and it really just came down to who was gonna get up after every punch,” Robinson says. “It was just one of those great games that you don’t realize at the time you are playing it.”
It was a game that featured 12 lead changes and eight ties. Ross Cooper had 18 points for Aplington-Parkersburg and Nick Waller added 17.
Iowa City Regina beat Pella Christian 55-33 in the other 2A semifinal.
