Police CarTwo men are facing charges after their rubber raft became stuck on a river dam in Mason City. Rescue personnel were sent to the Winnebago River dam around 3:30 p.m. Monday and threw the men a rope. Their raft was then pulled to shore.

The two men, 26-year-old Rusty Thorngren and 45-year-old Marc Ciska — both of Mason City, were cited for public intoxication.

Officials warn that the dams are deceptively dangerous. Just 11 days ago, two kayakers were pulled to safety after getting stuck in the same area on the Winnebago River.
