UNI coach Mark Farley says four candidates are vying to win the Panthers wide open race at quarterback. Senior Sawyer Kollmorgen, who started 27 games the past three seasons, Illinois transfer Aaron Bailey, sophomore Dalton Demos and redshirt freshman Eli Dunne from Grinnell all hope to be the starting signal caller in the opener at Iowa State.

Farley says they will begin to winnow the field as they get closer to the season opener.

“We’re going to have make a decision and cut somebody’s reps and start moving someone forward here. It’s time to move”, said Farley. There is going to come a time real quick when we have got to start making a depth chart because we have to get ready for a football game.”

The Panthers visit the Cyclones on September fifth.
