Crime Scene TapeA Sioux City man is going to prison for the death of his infant son. Twenty-eight-year-old Michael Williams was arrested shortly after he took his son to a hospital in April of last year.

An autopsy found two-month-old Leonard Williams died of malnutrition and dehydration. On Wednesday, the boy’s father agreed to a plea deal and was sentenced to 25 years in prison. Had the case gone to trial, Williams could have faced up to 85 years in prison on the charges related to the death of his son and neglect of his two other children, ages 1 and 2.

The mother of the three children, 25-year-old Rebekah Williams-McCarthy, is charged with child neglect and child endangerment. Her trial is scheduled for October 27.
