The provost of a Big Ten school and a consultant and former business executive are the last two candidates for the University of Iowa president’s position.

The third of four finalists is visiting the Iowa City campus today. He is Joseph Steinmetz, the executive vice president and provost at Ohio State University. He will meet with faculty, staff, students and members of the community before hosting a public forum this afternoon.

The last finalist is Bruce Harreld, who is the managing principal a Colorado business consulting company called Executing Strategy.

Harreld’s past experience includes teaching at the Harvard Business school, he was a senior vice president at IBM, and president of the Boston Market food chain.

Harreld will be in Iowa City Tuesday for morning meetings and then an afternoon public forum. The Board of Regents expects to interview the four finalists September 4th and then select the new president.
