south o'brienWeek four of the high school football season features a Class A District 2 showdown from Paullina as 5th-ranked South O’Brien is hosting 7th-ranked West Sioux. Both teams come into the game with perfect 3-0 records.

West Sioux quarterback Porter Hummel set a new state record in a 32-31 win over Lawton-Bronson last week when he passed for 583 yards and South O’Brien coach Mark Furhrman says they need to keep the Falcon’s offense off the field.

“If we can some time off the clock and keep their offense off the field that will probably be our best defense”, said Fuhrman. ” Other than that we’ve got to cover Kezden Blankenship and put some pressure on Porter Hummel.”

The teams split a pair of games last year. South O’Brien beat West Sioux 28-21 in the regular season meeting before West Sioux claimed a 17-16 victory in the opening round of the playoffs.
