WinnebagoWinnebago Industries is buying motorhome production facilities and equipment in Oregon, which will let the company move some operations out of Iowa while expanding at its headquarters in Forest City.

Winnebago plans to move the production of select diesel products to the 200,000 square-foot facility in Junction City, Oregon, with the transition estimated to be complete sometime in the second half of calendar year 2017.

The company says by moving the production of diesel products, they expect to increase its production of Class A gas and Class C motorhomes at the Forest City production facility. In addition, as the demand for Winnebago’s diesel products increases, the Junction City facility will allow for increased production of diesel products.

Vice President of Sales and Product Management Scott Degnan says the increased demand taxed the Forest City facility’s ability to keep up and caused the company to look elsewhere to find a location that had sufficient labor capacity to meet those demands.
