GavelAn eastern Iowa man will have to pay thousands of dollars in fines and restitution for failing to file his income taxes. Sixty-three-year-old William Peugh of West Burlington was sentenced to three years probation, $9,000 in fines and ordered to pay $164,000 dollars in restitution.

Court documents show he failed to pay income taxes from 2008 through 2010 on the sale of machinery through a company he owned. Peugh also owned part of a company that operates casinos, and did not pay taxes on the income from that business.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of willfully failing to file tax returns.
