Police-security-vestChiefs of police from six Iowa cities held a summit today in Cedar Rapids. The law enforcement officials discussed gun violence and other crime-related issues.

A spokesman for the group says the meeting allowed the agencies “to collaborate, share intelligence information and discuss methods to promote safe and secure communities.”

Chiefs of Police from Ames, Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Dubuque, Fayette and Iowa City were there. The U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa and the director of public safety for the City of Waterloo were there, too.
