Northern Iowa women’s basketball coach Tanya Warren credits a tough non conference schedule and experience for the Panthers quick start in the Missouri Valley Conference race.
The Panthers have sole possession of the Valley lead with a 6-1 record after a victory at Drake despite taking a 5-6 record into the start of the league play.
“We are playing three and four seniors and I have said all along you can’t put a price tag on experience”, said Warren. “We have great leadership and just being able to be led by seniors who have been through the wars is beneficial.”
UNI is on the road on Friday night to play a Loyola team that is 5-2 in the Valley.
