AmbulanceOne person was killed and five people were injured in a one-vehicle accident near Fort Dodge Saturday afternoon.

The Iowa State Patrol reported a westbound 2003 Chevrolet Venture driven by 18-year-old Rose Touney of Fort Dodge drifted onto the north shoulder of the road entering the north ditch and rolled into a nearby field.

All of the passengers were ejected from the vehicle. A passenger, 13-year-old Duane Touney of Fort Dodge, was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The five injured were Rose Touney, 7-year-old Benjamin Touney, six-year-old Jenifer Touney, 11-year-old Joseph Touney and 5-year-old Samuel Touney. All of the injured were transported to a Fort Dodge hospital for treatment.

On Sunday, counselors met with the classmates and families of Duane Touney at St. Edmond Middle School where Touney was an eighth grade student.
