Iowa State coach Steve Prohm is looking forward to his first experience at the Big-12 Tournament in Kansas City. The 21st ranked Cyclones are the sixth seed and will play third-seeded Oklahoma in Thursday night’s quarterfinals.

“The atmosphere will be terrific”, said Prohm. “It is probably the most supported if not the most supported conference tournament in the country. We will have about 15 thousand Cyclone fans in there on Thursday night and the atmosphere will be electric.”

Iowa State has enjoyed plenty of success in Kansas City. The Cyclones will be in search of their third straight tournament title this week but the road could be a difficult one. If ISU gets by Oklahoma they could face second seeded West Virginia and regular season champ Kansas.

“I think anyone of several teams could win it and our league is good top to bottom.”
