Authorities in Council Bluffs are investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that happened early this morning.
Police and rescue personnel responded to the scene on the Interstate 480 bridge linking downtown Omaha to the western side of Council Bluffs, at around 2:20 AM.
Upon their arrival, officers found a deceased black male, laying in the far left hand lane of I-480 westbound. The man’s identity was being withheld pending notification of family.

The roadway, which was closed during the investigation, was re-opened to traffic at around 5:15 AM.
