Fire-truckA woman who died in a western Iowa house fire has been identified.

The cause of the fire last Friday in Council Bluffs remains under investigation. The woman who lived in the home, 67-year-old Stella Neighbors, likely died of smoke inhalation, according to the Council Bluffs Fire Department.

The home was destroyed and crews that responded to the fire were unable to enter the home when they arrived due to the intensity of the flames.
