The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle accident in Hamilton County Thursday morning that claimed the life of an Ames motorist.
The victim is identified as 57-year-old Colin William Tesdall. The accident happened on a gravel road two miles northeast of Stratford. Reportedly a westbound 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Tesdall lost control striking the south guardrail of a bridge over Squaw Creek.
The vehicle continued through the guardrail, landing in the creek where it was found partially submerged on its top. Tesdall was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The accident remains under investigation.
