Police car lightsTwo people were killed in a three-vehicle crash Sunday morning in western Iowa’s Crawford County near Denison.

According to the Iowa State Patrol accident report, 22-year-old Robbie Reed McMullen, of Denison, was driving a 2003 Volkswagon Beetle northbound at a high rate of speed. As McMullen attempted to pass a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by 62-year-old Dawn Ranae Jessen of Denison, she was struck by a southbound Chevrolet S-10 pickup, driven by 43-year-old Fred Edward Hall of Denison.

McMullen lost control and sideswiped the PT Cruiser before the Volkswagon rolled, coming to rest on its roof. McMullen and passenger, 19-year-old Emiliano Ramos of Denison, were both killed as a result of the accident. Jessen, Hall and 19-year-old Luis Enrique Mendez of Denison were injured. All parties were transported by Crawford County Ambulance to Crawford County Memorial Hospital.

McMullen, Ramos and Hall were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
