Police car lightsPolice in the northeast Iowa town of Monticello are investigating another bank robbery.

It’s the second bank robbery in the city in the last five days. Monticello Police responded to the Citizens State Bank at around 9:30 Monday night on the report that two employees were attempting to complete a night deposit drop for a grocery store when a man, armed with a handgun, approached the two women and demanded they give up the bag. The man fled on foot with the money bag.

This robbery happened a block away from another one that occurred on Friday. In that case, officers arrested Brandon Brown early Sunday morning on a first-degree robbery charge. The suspect in Monday night’s robbery is described as a small framed man between 20 and 30 years old. He was wearing a black ski mask, a black sweatshirt and black pants. Neither employee was injured.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Monticello Police Department at 319-465-3526.
