On August 12th of last year, Steve Schendel stole $100 from his father. Robert Schendel discovered the theft, the two argued and the son pulled a handgun out of a bedroom drawer and shot his father to death.
The son then took $15,000 out of his father’s bank accounts and stole his dad’s minivan. He was arrested two days later in Colorado. Schendel had pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution as well as robbery for stealing the van and theft for stealing the money. He was sentenced Monday.
