The suspect in the ambush shooting deaths of two central Iowa police officers has been captured in nearby Dallas County.

An Urbandale police officer was shot to death in his squad car, near the Urbandale High School, around one o’clock this morning. Twenty minutes later, a Des Moines Police officer responding to that scene was shot in his squad car. The second shooting victim was taken a hospital, where he died.

Police quickly identified 46-year-old Scott Michael Greene as the suspect. Greene was found in Dallas County by the sheriff’s office there and the Iowa State Patrol. He’s being tranferred to Des Moines Police.
