A convicted triple-murderer who’s been in an Iowa prison nearly three decades is going back to court. Sherman White was sentenced to three life terms after the 1972 robbery & shooting at Davenport’s Shamrock Tavern. Scott County Attorney Bill Davis says White’s fate may be decided at tomorrow’s hearing.A St. Louis appeals court ruled evidence withheld during the original trial could’ve proved White innocent. Davis says he plans to re-try White but knows he faces some legal challenges because of the age of the case.White was transferred from the Fort Madison Prison yesterday to the Scott County Jail for tomorrow’s hearing. White was 17 at the time of the crime. He’s now 45.
