The University of Iowa’s Hygeinic Lab is going to test about250 of the state’s municipal wells. The lab’s two-year study will analyzethe samples to see if ammonia and nitrates in Iowa’s tap water are raisingIowans chance of getting cancer. Researcher Rich Kelly says most Iowans are not at risk for having aproblem with their tap water. The 42-thousand dollar study is backed by theIowa Environmental Protection Commission.
