DNR making headway on used tires

The state Department of Natural Resources says it is makingprogress in its processing of used tires. Mel Pins, with the D-N-R, saysthe state has removed most of its big tire piles last year. It is now taking bids for the processing of the tire pile in FortDodge. The tires are converted into fuel for the three state universities’power plants.
