Passenger train may come to Iowa sooner

ALL ABOARD — IOWA INTERSTATE RAILROAD OFFICIALS SAY OVERNIGHT PASSENGER TRAIN SERVICE COULD START RUNNING BETWEEN DES MOINES & CHICAGO AS SOON AS NEXT YEAR. THE AMTRAK ROUTE WOULD LIKELY INCLUDE STOPS IN DAVENPORT, IOWA CITY, GRINNELL & NEWTON. EARLIER REPORTS ESTIMATED THE PROJECT MAY NOT BEGIN ROLLING FOR FIVE YEARS.
