March 2, 1999 By admin

Former Tennessee Governor Lamar Alexander has asked former Iowa Governor Terry Branstad to be National Chairman of the Alexander for Presidenteffort. Alexander says Branstad knows Iowa inside out and will be a valuable asset. Texas Governor George W. Bush and Elizabeth Dole are considered the front-runners for the republican party’s next presidential nomination, but Branstad says the race in Iowa is “wide open.” Branstad won’t be paid for his role.
