Residents in Scott and Clinton Counties are going to the polls today to determine if their sales taxes will rise to benefit schools. The extra tax would bring Scott County an estimated 18-million more dollars each year while reducing property taxes in the Davenport, Bettendorf, North Scott and Pleasant Valley school districts. Pleasant Valley Schools Superintendant Dale Barber says improving schools would be a plus.
