ISU, Iowa wrestlers prepare for conference meets

Iowa wrestling coach Jim Zalesky says the Hawkeyes’ string of 25-straight Big Ten championships may be in jeopardy this weekend. The conference tournament opens Saturday in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Zalesky feels second ranked Minnesota is the favorite. Zalesky says the Hawkeyes will need their best performance of the season towin the title. Iowa State will host the Big-12 tournament Saturday in Ames. The Cyclones are ranked 7th nationally and coach Bobby Douglas feels his squad is ready. Douglas says this is the one thing his team prepares for all year long. Theconference tournaments determine how many Cyclones and Hawkeyes advance to the national tournament.
